Seriously, what they have done to the railways in the last few years in India, is just unconscionable.
For a highly populous country with established towns and cities spread around every 50-100 kms, railways is the best medium of transport.
But the PR-driven campaign of making it a showpiece has ruined it for everyone, including those who have bought into the PR machinery. While I was fortunate to be in a state with competitive state road transport competing for both speed and price, not everyone is and it's definitely hurt the poor the most.
