I just need to give it space. I get the crucial details (setting, characters, plot points for the scene) and I just let it roll where it wilt. For me, the key is to not resist the impulse. If I imagine it's drizzly, I go with it. If Taliesin slips in wet mud, I have to accept it. I might decide to drop it later, but while I'm composing the scene, the characters make their own reality.
