I don't know anything about brands but I googled them. The Kleins looks very nice to me.
I got this one to go to work but I find myself using it all the time for fun, so I was thinking of getting another bike for "leisure activities".
I want to keep the same spirit of cheap/very simple/easy to maintain as being self-suficient with the maintenance and assembling it myself is a big part of the fun for me. I also like the idea of giving a second lifebro parts that would otherwise have been discarded.
I was thinking of assembling a fixie with a flip-flop hub and a quick release axle so I could switch it to a single speed at a moment's notice.
Although I am now in my mid-forties and I don't know if it's realistic to start riding a fixie at my age, I hear it can be quite hard on the knees. In the same spirit I like the aesthetic of drop bars but it might objectively be too uncomfortable to really enjoy it.
I'm not in bad shape, it's just that I'm not a kid anymore. Although this bike certainly makes me feel like one.
