This is probably poorly phrased. What I’m trying to say is that those useless dough balls wouldn’t be useless dough balls if they could still make money doing “lower level” work. Not everyone is cut out to do things like high level math and science.
Personally I’ve really come to believe that I’m a self aware midwit. I’ve seen truly intelligent people and I’m not one of them. I went through college and got a white collar job because it’s what I had to do to make a decent wage, but I think I would have been better off in a “lower level“ role. I worked for peanuts in a warehouse temporarily, and I was really good at it. I have not been really good at the high-skill white collar jobs I’ve been in.
My destiny is basically to become a useless dough ball (although I know enough to physically not let that happen) but skill wise I don’t have the chops for bigger brain stuff like being a doctor. I think I’d live a healthier life if we didn’t downgrade the lower quarter or more of jobs into being for teenagers.
