Obviously, that's Matthew.
He's just...such an asshole. "A prick in pretty clothes", as one of my SCs says. He's arrogant, misogynistic, and manipulative, although he's not as one-dimensional as he appears to be (thanks to his equally manipulative father).
I considered giving him a redemption arc, but I can't. Not after what happens in book one. What I have planned now is so much more rewarding for everyone—esp. Jaslan.
