I'm not 100% sure that this gets communicated enough, but when we say that it is damaging to comment on the appearances of of women's & girls' bodies, this includes positive comments.
Whether your comment is positive or negative, the comment still enforces the arbitrary standards that make women's & girls' lives miserable.
Even those whose bodies conform to these standards, because you have no idea what they might be doing to themselves to achieve this.
