npub1psdfxfpxz2cwmmnsk60y3nqpn2tqh9n24h4hstvfkwvr6eaek9js499sr7 (npub1psd…9sr7) I killed an older iPhone speaker by using it while sweating a lot, between that, drink spills, and people taking pictures at the pool I have to assume Apple is going IP68 across the board just to avoid silly warranty claims. Also I noticed when I bought my last iPad the Apple care coverage is cheaper and better (e.g. accidental damage is $39 for a screen replacement, 10 years ago it was "too bad for you") so clearly the number and/or cost of incidents is dropping. IP68 also means you can clean and sanitize your devices which is nice (kids are always so sticky).
