I think the EU was sold as a way to compete with the US but it was either a lie from the start or was quickly twisted into the socialist shit show it is now.
I agree that all the European countries has to do was agree to try and work together but remain sovereign nations. The typical European doesn’t understand how the United States of America really works and they were fooled into believing that the EU was the answer.
