Technically, it already limits me. I only follow so many and eventually I read up to the point where I got to from the last time I read. Boom, done.
Trying to get it all in, was one factor that started the fiasco with algorithms: How to get what was most important to the top so it's not missed because there was too much to realistically go through. Then of course, more uses came of it, like what the platform's controller thought you should see more often. Eventually, people started to speed through posts to get to the ones they were more interested and that became a daily habit.
This may sound mean, but if one found their sweet balance with how many they follow, replies they make to comments, etc... then the next one they think is worth following, they could boot one following off their list that is not worthwhile of that extra time of their life.
Replace time with money and one has the same formula: Want to spend more? Then spend less on the least valuable to make room for the new want. To be in control of one's own time, one must take it, not delegate it, or else it's much harder to be aware of what changes one needs to make to make their life healthier.
