My understanding of history is that White culture became increasingly Christian from 100 AD to 1000 AD - both in terms of devout belief and geographic scope - then settled into a hegemonic equilibrium until the introduction of the printing press. Even then the masses remained predominantly Christian until very recently. The problem for 'Christian nation' theory is the ruling stratum lost faith a long time ago and hid this fact.
US was 95% Christian in population as recently as 1950. The ruling class pushing Kinsey's faggot propaganda... not so much.
