OUT OF THE ORDINARY
This doesn't fit in with most other things on Pixelfed that I post or which I see come by on my feed. Nothing terribly creative or art-worthy in this, but I liked this photo for a number of reasons. First off, the photo I am holding in my hand is me at 19. It was taken way back when by one of my oldest and dearest friends Emma Lee. The old guy in colour is me at 61.
I also liked the composition, that the two faces aren't a copy of each other. I tried one shot using a similar facial expression but that ended up looking kind of kitsch. In another one I just looked old and grumpy, hahaha. So I settled for this.
And finally there's my own memories, naturally. This young guy seems happy enough, but I'd be lying if I said my late teens were all sunshine. Still, better days were to come. And I made it to the here and now reasonably in one piece and quite content in my way.
Thanks to you all for indulging me.
