its hard to make any sort of case that either of them are compromised in any way.
they make different organizational tradeoffs
and obviously the approach to privacy is different.
i might prefer if Simplex had a nonprofit model. but mostly because I might be concerned if they sell the company.
but for now I can run my own relays over Tor and have basically zero concern over private comms. i know that unless the
ISPs go down, me and my fam can exchange messages in a private way.
I'd sure prefer that Signal made it easy to run a server yourself. its weird thats not a priority for them.
but their network effect and visibility make them a good tool for normies. and you have a much larger community watching them than with Simplex.
its a waste of time to bitch about the WEF thing or VC funding.
