As kids back in the days of the NES, we'd take turns playing. But sometimes there was a kid too young who wanted to "play" even tho he didn't know how. We'd hand him an unplugged controller & he'd watch the screen & giggle hitting buttons that did nothing, tho he thought they did. I've still not thought of a better analogy for describing democracy.
