I'm ashamed to admit I missed the racism aspect until it was literally pointed out to me in Doctor Who Unleashed.

To be frank, a lot of television is very white so I didn't think anything of it. When they told the Doctor they wouldn't travel with him, I thought it was because he wasn't in their "friend group".

I even missed the older lady calling the TARDIS being bigger on the inside, "Voodoo Magic".

I'm really disappointed I missed it. It's so obvious now.
