If a radiology center calls to confirm an appointment and asks that you be there 30 minutes ahead (for prep, etc.), why didn’t they just schedule the appointment for 30 minutes ahead in the first place?

This has always bothered me about doctor’s appointments. If you need me there 15-30 minutes ahead of the appointment, just schedule me for that time. Why give me some false time that will make me late?
