Although their viewpoints may not be as outwardly extreme, the "alt lite" serves as a functional pipeline to the fringes. Most people don't start off as outward Nazis; they tend to start off with the Tucker Carlsons, then Ben Shapiros, then Alex Joneses of the world. I think calling these people "alt lite" really undermines how dangerous their rhetoric really can be.
