I even jump start Li-ion batteries that have gone below 2.5v, powering them with 4.3V and then soon change to an actual charging profile with something like the ToolkitRC chargers.... but the capacity is seriously affected and so has the internal resistance. So it is not safe to continue using this when you have a high power usage. For small batteries it might be OK. Lipo packs can be done too, but riskier.
