Hyundai/Kia has a reputation for being good value for money and their warranties are quite good. I know a couple people with VW ID4 EV's and they like them, not sure what their price point is though. I think you're right to shy away from Tesla-- politics aside, I wonder how firm their long term commitment to their customers is. Lots of recalls and poor customer service.
