I subsequently found my way into the embedded world which I found much more appealing. I still play around with various microcontrollers mostly for home automation type stuff.

The progress of miniaturization is amazing. I'm typing this on a phone that possibly has more compute power than the IBM 370 that I shared with many others back in the day.
