It annoys me to no end when I comment that someone should "read the audio book", and someone comes back with a line about how I must have meant "listen to the audio book." Listening to or looking at a book still gives you the same information, but do I tell you that you mean "look at the print or ebook" when you talk about reading? Obviously not. Do you jump all over someone when they mention how an article "says" something, even though articles can't talk? Just stop.
