I've been looking into home brewing as a way of saving money, but I'm put off by the upfront cost, waiting and uncertainty.
A starter kit for beer is NOK 730, but I need a trolley to move the bucket, so that's NOK 980. But 23 litres of beer needs 46 bottles. A box of 24 PET bottles is NOK 200 and I'll need two of those, so that's NOK 1380 in total, plus I'll need sugar.
The first batch will be more expensive than just buying that amount of beer, and the batch might go bad.
