This was made just before the Waldorf, showing its age, was closed for extensive renovations in 2017, which are not complete yet.
It was captured with a DSLR and a shifting lens.
Compositionally, this is an exercise in symmetry and asymmetry. When the approaching storm cloud formed a wedge that complemented the two buildings on either side, I worked quickly to make the capture.
