"Democratization of tech" implies that today you cannot learn about it (some cannot due to lack of funds/free time, discrimination in open source, etc) which is false.
This continued promise that nobody has to learn anything to be able to meaningfully participate is ridiculous. Just a few days ago we had the case where a code assistant inserted code into someone's blockchain smart contract that emptied his wallet. (I am just using this as an example, my empathy with blockchain people is very marginal at best)
If we think technology is important (I do) and we realize that technology is embedded into our ways of life - especially into our digital ways of life - we also need to realize that people deserve quality software. That is secure. That they can ideally modify and adapt to their needs. That has the smallest ecological impact possible. And "we have an AI generate all the stuff" does not lead us that way. It leads us in the opposite direction. Shittier, flimsier code that's harder to maintain.
