Like the sandpile it can have cascades where you have a region full of sleeping walkers that suddenly wake up as a result of a cascade from a new visitor - so it's lumped in as a similar kind of model to the sandpile. TBH I wasn't motivated to look closely as the pictures aren't that pretty.
