Pittsburgh Electric Specialty Co. - AC/DC Desk Fan (c.1915)
Should have taken before pics but, meh. Anyhow, it was in pretty rough shape and missing the cage. Today was disassembly, paint stripping and prepping for new paint.
It still runs on the original windings but there is some voltage leaking within the core to the motor shaft at about 1 kΩ. Of course this may be a "product feature" since this is before the practice of grounding electrical devices, so a little shock here and there was totally normal. For sake of preservation and prevent further degradation of the winding insulation I recoated the windings with shellac.
