Today I was reminded that MG Rover wheel nuts are an awful design. They have decorative caps that are pressed / crimped onto the nut. You're supposed to be able to remove them whole but over time the caps warp and the socket either won't go on or it slips off.
Potential removal methods include different size sockets, nut extractors, chiselling the caps off, grinding down the caps with a socket on an impact driver or using a hole saw to cut through the caps and remove. That's tomorrow's fun 😬
