The artists are the ones selling it to Spotify/PFC studios. It stinks that the platform isn't giving individuals more opportunity to "catch on" when one of their churned out tunes does well, but the listeners of these bland lists don't seem to care about the artists. As I said, it's a shame that Spotify isn't more transparent about what this is, but customers clearly don't care who's making these lowfi beats, etc.
