Mastodon is a much lovelier environment than any other social media I've used, and though it took me a while to get out of the 'global timeline' mindset that others impose, I think it's a vastly better experience overall.

I just lament that others who came over when I did didn't stick with it long enough to develop the same. This is the better, more human web everyone claims to want.
