But from stuff overheard on the internet and elsewhere, Nissan & a few others were all installing CVTs from the same Japan plant and which were extremely fragile.
And that in turn dropped the CVT "reputation" as a whole technology, especially in the US, despite it not being inherent to the technology itself, and other factories' designs being way more reliable.
