Many things wrong here, but to be brief, compare figures 3 (original) and 9 (random). The least skilled are very similar to a random distribution, though there is about a 5-10% overestimation compared to random, then as skill increases assessment of it becomes more accurate than random. The least skilled don’t have a clue on their ability but still overestimate compared to a random guess. That’s the dunning kruger effect, which this author demonstrates quite well.
