At a multi-book launch party, I told our ad guy my theory that marketing IS a Skinner Box, but it is the folks in the biz who are being conditioned. He said it was the most depressing idea he ever heard.
Visiting their office weeks later, he comes bounding out of the back, "I can disprove your theory!"
