Among the Branches
I saw this northern cardinal (Cardinalis cardinalis) yesterday filtering around in the branches of our crepe myrtle trees. The have a silhouette that I can pick out at a distance, the long tail helps plus they are larger that the finches and the sparrows. My wife used to hear them pecking on the window in the morning and thought they were reminding us to put birds seed out.
