Some of the stuff Gurdjieff talks about seems to me quite clearly profound esoteric knowledge, but a lot of it is so clearly beyond me as to seem ridiculous.

Vernon Howard clearly took the most practical and relevant teachings and distilled them so a simpleton such as myself could at least appreciate them somewhat on an intellectual level, albeit not yet realizing them with my entire being.
