no, just a lot of trial and error and loosing some sats on rebalancing, until figuring out the sweet spot that resulted in profitability. it's mostly because LN optimizes the route for the lowest fee. So too low of a fee on a channel means no profit, but a higher fee means less transactions so no profit. So you have to strike that balance and the fee market changes day to day which makes it difficult. 

now one idea is to offer LN services to companies/vendors, set them up and what not, and also offer them support. It wouldn't be out of the question to setup a single payment channel on their node to route through your node only, and you would manage the liquidity for them ect. as a service and take the fees, which could be set arbitrarily since they only have one channel. I mean, you could go as far as leasing them the node..
