The outrage you attribute to the language being too polite is actually caused by the sense of whiplash that normal people get as common terms and concepts are constantly redefined and needlessly renamed to appease a fragile-minded permanently-offended class.

But FWIW, I agree, let's stop getting angry over language. While we're at it, will we also be making the same concessions for all of the problematic right-wing 'dogwhistles' (many of which were simply the accepted term 20 years ago) that the authoritarian left has been erasing from our culture via threat of cancellation (and in some countries, prison time) for the last decade?
