I've heard some of my friends say this is why they can't/won't leave Facebook. I searched to find out if Mastodon has a "Groups" feature but couldn't find anything.
My (former) Facebook folks wouldn't want to go as far as running their own server. That is beyond.
I'm hoping that groups functionality will come to Mastodon soon.
