This is the thing that may have gotten Obama over. His afro father like Kamala's was not an American Descendant Of Slaves & both chose non black women. Obama himself chose the indisputably black Michelle Obama whose children 'birthright' as ADOS could extend membership to him.
I can personally become African American but black is not something i have the history to be part of.
