#WritersCoffeeClub Ch 15 Nbr 04 — Do you find your writing skills or writer's instinct useful in other walks of life?

I CAN communicate; not many people can.

I can write eloquently and persuasively. I can present and argue a point, yet still make it fun to read, humorous if necessary. I can take a blank sheet of paper and write a multipage essay without sweating, and enjoy doing it. I can even critique without reducing a person to tears.

In my experience, especially in IT and in business, writing skills are rare. I suspect they were either too liberal arts to learn, or too secretarial, or people—who read little and need to write less—considered it unimportant relative to other subjects.

However, the skill is amazingly useful in our highly connected world, especially when matched with an understanding of the profession it supports. It makes you someone who doesn't get laid off in lean times.

I need a proofreader, tho...
