-- A REMINDER OF THE DECENTRALIZED CONCEPT OF THE SITE --

AnarchistFederation.net operates as a decentralized content aggregator, automatically sharing activist news from 350 sources. While sources undergo review before inclusion, the multitude of daily articles is not subject to manual approval before publication; however, the moderation team can review them afterward.

With more than 220,000 articles published, it is almost inevitable that some could require the intervention of the moderation team, just like any forum, participatory media, or community wiki. The key is implementing measures to minimize frequency, filter sources, and ensure prompt intervention.

Posts on social media platforms like Twitter and Mastodon are automatically shared by bots and are not manually approved, filtered, or editorialized by the team. Mere presence on the platform does not equate to endorsement by the moderation team, but we take responsibility and we actively respond to reports to remove inappropriate content.

Maintaining an automated platform does not mean that we tolerate the presence of unacceptable content. The moderation team undertakes to react quickly if such a case should arise. It is crucial to prevent the platform, designed as a tool of struggle, from being misused to promote ideas contrary to our values. While reports are rare, comprising less than 0.0001% of published articles, any level of inappropriate content is unacceptable, and continual improvement is a constant goal.

-- ARTICLE REMOVAL PROCESS --

Reports are always appreciated and help ensure good collective management of the platform. As soon as an article is reported to the moderation team for a valid reason, we promise to intervene very quickly – usually in less than 12 hours.

Removing an article automatically initiates a process where the moderation team reviews the original source to determine if other articles are problematic. Sources that repeat offenses will be removed from the site. In some severe cases, even a single article could be sufficient to justify the removal of a source, possibly accompanied by the removal of all other articles.

It is important to use the reporting form designed for this purpose, which ensures that the message goes to the right place and allows rapid intervention by the moderation team. Comments on social media are not always read daily, unlike emails.

Examples of valid reasons for deletion: racism, sexism, homophobia, islamophobia, transphobia, conspiracy theorists, climate denials, fake news, interviews with questionable individuals associated with the far-right, and any content in direct opposition to fundamental anarchist principles. This list is not exhaustive and we rely on your good judgment to determine what should not be found on an anarchist site.

-- ABOUT THE MODERATION TEAM --

Please note that this site is managed by a team of volunteers who, like you, want to ensure that this combat tool remains clean, well-managed, and free of inappropriate content. Our team is not at the origin of the writing of the articles which do not necessarily always represent our personal positions. So we hope to cooperate together in the same direction to have inappropriate content removed as quickly as possible. Thank you for being understanding and allowing the team to rectify the situation before losing your temper.

The team is present on the Forum Libertaire and the Anarchist Forum where you can also report content.
