Neither has ever turned a profit. Youtube you can understand cause the thousands of Petabytes(my best guess) of data to store all the videos.
Twitch has to use shitloads of bandwidth but mostly horrible management/decision making is their reason for not turning a profit. Amazon uses them as a tax write-off I bet.
