Of course, one would have to define rhetoric. But if we go by popular rhetoric, one would expect the dialectic of those who want to discover the truth would be quite turned off by the rhetoric that specifically seeks to persuade as this is the kind that tends to be contrived and cringe—with the likelihood of an appreciation and sensitivity to truth and reality, near nil.
