8 am trying to calculate the number of square inches of the surface of standard sheet of 8.5 x 11 paper.

So I multiplied length by width to get 93.5 inches.

But if I calculate the amount of half that (4.25 x 5.5), it only gives me a quarter of the amount that I'd get of I calculated the full page.

What gives?
