I like calling this — the middleware way.
Another perhaps larger factor in the SV model of single-purpose apps all owned by near mega-monopolies is the traditional VC mentality mantra of “bigger is better” combined with a protocol biased toward centralization.
Nostr and other protocols like it are biased toward decentralization. So the middleware way business models that will win the most will be those aligned with the protocol’s medium bias.
Shifting product consciousness to this new decentralized medium mode, in socially responsible ways, is needed to avoid repeating the mistakes of past protocols. This is the way.
