One of my favourite books last year was

It is a realistic yet hopeful look into our near future, and feels like a preview into our battles to come as well as our strategies to overcome them. Despite grappling with topics like climate change, pandemics, fascism, and domestic terrorism, it manages to paint a vision of the future that is not drenched in doomerism, and can provide some well-needed cautious optimism instead.
