I think the whole debate regarding bloat and old/new computers all comes from the fact that computing power over the last 15 or so years hasn't grown as fast as they have the 15 years before that.
Using a computer from 2005 in the year 2015 seems pretty absurd, but using a computer from 2015 in 2025 isn't as far fetched.
