Apparently it is #WorldHappinessDay. To be honest there isn't a whole lot in the world to inspire happiness. It seems like all the worst actors are not only doing their worst but that literally nobody is willing to stand up against them.
The United States fell out of the top 20 for happiest nations in the world. Fascism is on the rise and has a real chance of taking power in this country. And those who are supposed to be opposing it are instead adopting a lot of the policies that the fascists are proposing while telling us it's our fault if the fascists win.
Honestly I'm growing weary with all of the horror that we see daily. Abroad we are continuing to provide material support for an ongoing genocide in #Gaza. At home we are in the 5th year of a deadly pandemic and our approach to it is to put our heads in the sand, pretend it isn't happening, and ordering everyone back to work because corporate profits are more important than our lives are. The planet is boiling and our response is to increase all of the things that are causing the planet to boil, again because it's good for corporate profits.
