No booze should give your liver plenty of margin for a few Dr Pepper, sugar or HFCS. Although some people are probably correct to cut out as much added sugar as possible. Even fruit juices in the US are extra sweet. They don't add sugar but use concentrate to make it up to about 110%. I cut my Ginger Beer with seltzer water, at least 50%. Tastes fine.
