I can't find it in me to condemn insider trading in modern america. If anything it's widely accepted by every gov worker to be a perk of the game, every other job has these obvious moral quandaries that nobody ever mentions. You don't see them cracking down on doctors or teachers over obviously gay incentive programs. Realtors and brokers hardly got yelled at for tacking on 30% to home loans just for a fat payout, and I can only assume that's legal since nobody ever takes them to task.
I'm more offended by the outrage in the media, at this point. It's boomeresque to be sit there impotently whining about how the status quo is against the rules, because it's obvious that everyone who can do something to impose them sees it as a non-issue.
I'm just bored of the faux misanthropic "*awww all those politicians are crooks*" talk because every old guy who does it also makes a big deal about how important it is to vote and pay taxes, which tells me the politicians profiteering off their position is just as much an american tradition embedded in the psyche as thanksgiving
"for a criminal to have a knife...." as it goes
