I started down that route, ended pretty quickly though due a hormonal pregnant teacher kicking me off the course over some sketches. Stuck with philosophy instead, then went for a practical degree that bored the fuck out of me so I blew my loan on drugs and studied some interests on my own. I can't help but view either side as the same thing anymore tbh, it's pretty much just tribal loyalty and double think from what I can tell. Very rarely find even basic critical thinking in any of them.

Mine usually come up shorter than that if they're strangers, I'll say something that challenges their view and they'll bring out the buzzwords and attempt life ruination. ~"Your account's private, and you aren't doxing yourself immediately, so that means I win"

Yes it is, they'll grasp at fallacies (the left are currently especially fond of ad hominems) whilst ignoring principles entirely. Always seeking a quick gotcha moment. I found it amusing for a while by asking them what exactly it would take for them to change their mind on _____. It forces them to either ignore it and continue ranting, in which case they want a monologue with an audience, or announce something that's usually beyond realistic expectation to receive. Past that it requires a lot of "Define that for me"s to work out the redefinitions and thought patterns, before crushing them one by one and then usually getting a ragequit.
