Building Back Better by Getting Rid of Human Carbon
The United Kingdom’s Climate Change Committee (CCC) is rapidly moving to eliminate what it considers 'useless carbon' from the environment ... by targeting citizens. The agency said that achieving Net Zero will require “behavioral changes” from the people that include curtailing just about every aspect of life from diet to transportation. But those effected needn't worry because this self-satisfied agency boldly claims ... the “people seem willing to accept there must be some degree of constraint.”
Britain's CCC was established under the "Climate Change Act 2008" and continues to advise both the Westminster and Devolved (i.e., Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland) Governments on reducing emissions and adopting to the [alleged] impacts of 'climate change'.
CCC Director James Richardson has recently said: “In terms of the analysis we’ve done, about 10 percent of emissions reduction to 2035 comes from what we would think of as behaviour change. That’s predominantly around diets, flying and modal shifting [to] public transport.”
The CCC wish to see harsh fines imposed upon the legacy automotive industry. Richardson compared the switch away from liquid-fueled engines to EV's as a simple matter of "creative destruction".
Prime Minister Starmer lied at the COP29 Summit when he claimed his government would not be “telling people how to live their lives’ by reducing air travel or changing their diets.”
Other "Build Back Better" nations also adhering to the WEF's so-called "Great Reset" are slowly (almost imperceptibly) forcing their populations to internalize changes via taxation on carbon-producing items like cattle or aviation. Yet, how will governments FORCE the people to change their diets and transportation methods? Are these agencies being overly optimistic for believing the masses will blindly comply with their baseless orders ... just as their rough, Leftist arrogance will inevitably inspire them to be?
The UK's traditional sheep and cattle populations have already been artificially reduced. And CCC chairman Piers Forster has already doubled-down on those reductions by suggesting the imposition of high taxes on meat and dairy products simply to make them less attainable for the average person.
Looking ahead, many western governments will seek to fill their coffers with new and/or increased taxes while their respective "elites" avoid the need to make any “behavioural changes” of a drastic nature, as such politicized initiatives are inherently inclined to benefit the privileged few while punishing the stressed-out masses.
Agencies driven by dogma will always create dark outcomes. Longer term, Britain's CCC does not appear to have any alternatives to lab-grown meat and the human consumption of insects. I have more than a suspicion such policies are being tolerated mostly because of the 'catastrophic' fear-factor they are always wrapped with ... and because their their true motives have not yet been adequately understood.
